In 2010, Friends of Lake Williams conducted its third annual lake clean-up

The Friends of Lake Williams (FLW) organized and conducted a lake clean-up day on August 7, 2010.  This was the third consecutive year for this project.  Eight boats met at the 2nd Beach of the Lake Williams Beach Association at 9:00 AM.  There were also a few volunteers who agreed to police the shoreline on foot, particularly near Route 207.  Each boat was assigned a specific area of the lake to pick up all manner of debris.  The pile of trash that was accumulated is pictured above and was staged on Route 207 and included eleven tires (one with rim), a segment of a dock, a wooden and waterlogged boat oar, metal piping, several wooden planks and studs, and a large amount of discarded beverage containers.  Lebanon town officials were previously contacted and agreed to pick up and discard the refuse.  After two plus hours of scouring the lake bottom and shoreline, a picnic sponsored by FLW was held for the volunteers.
